How Donations Are Used
The American Cancer Society is the largest private funder of cancer research in the United States. Their comprehensive cancer control program includes cancer research, school and worksite educational programs, public policy efforts and direct services to cancer patients and their families.
In 1999, Relays nationwide raised $129 million for cancer research, education and patient services.
The American Institute of Philanthropy gave the American Cancer Society an "A" grade for effectively using donor dollars, so you know your donation to Relay for Life will be used wisely.
