Lincoln County offers more than 30 State Parks, day use area and campground facilities, with extensive overnight facilities at Beverly Beach and South Beach near Newport to the state's most-visited wayside park at D River in Lincoln City. The region’s active arts community supports the varied events at the Performing Arts as well as classes and shows at the area’s Visual Arts Centers. As the principal artistic venues in Lincoln County, the centers host local and national touring productions, artists and exhibits throughout the year.

The Aquarium is one of the most successful facilities of its kind in the country – rated in the top 10! An ever-changing array of exhibits tells the story of a single raindrop's journey from a coastal mountain stream to the Pacific Ocean. Jellyfish to sea otters -- it offers something for everyone, including the new home of a large, walk-through underwater exhibit and the largest seabird aviary in North America. The popularity of the Oregon Coast Aquarium has made it a destination for many family vacationers.

The Marine Science Center makes Newport a major hub for regional and international marine research and studies. Yes, Lincoln County is home to two lighthouses, providing a strong historical presence here on the Central Oregon Coast. The BLM operates the Lighthouse Interpretive Center on the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area at the north end of Newport, with guided tours available of the operating Yaquina Head lighthouse. The historic Yaquina Bay Lighthouse gives travelers a glimpse of turn-of-the-century living through their interpretive museum and gift shop located in the former lighthouse-keeper’s home overlooking the Pacific Ocean off Highway 101.

Popular (and some say ‘romantic’) activity during the winter when the waves are highest, room rates are the lowest and requires no special equipment. Beachfront rooms are plentiful for watching the rain fall, the wind blow and the ocean surf dance. Depoe Bay, Yachats and Devils Churn are particularly good lookout and photo points where the weather, the water and mother nature provide the show.

Antique stores are located throughout the Central Oregon Coast with Lincoln City and Toledo as two antique retail centers. There are dozens of stores throughout the county for those searching for that lasting heirloom or ancient treasure.

Lincoln City and Newport offer the largest retail shopping opportunities, with every community having its own unique offerings. The Factory Stores @ Lincoln City is a popular draw for travelers, with bayfronts in Depoe Bay, Newport and Waldport offering a healthy mix of shops, galleries, bookstores & seafood markets.

Scenic flights along the coast from the Siletz Bay and Newport airports are one way to find some of those out-of-the-way places you never knew about. For a reasonable price, a pilot will give you an air tour of Lincoln County.

Halfway between the equator and the North Pole, Lincoln City provides the area with the best kite-flying winds anywhere, earning the city's title of "Kite Capital of the World". Kites have put Lincoln City on the international map for its numerous major kite festivals each year.
